I semi-recently returned from a work-related trip to Italy with 3 new and/or exciting things: a new Moschino bag, some crisp new bills in my pocket from the work for which I was commissioned, and a fire under my tuckus to procure a seller's permit and business license to start 'a vintage vestige' online store.
I started this process over a month ago, and after jumping through a three-ring circus of flaming hoops for the city of Torrance -- including the post office issuing my PO box key to someone else, being interviewed by the business license department, the city planning office, the state board of equalization and the Torrance PD (...really?) along with paying an egregious amount of fees (the bills in my pocket aren't so crisp anymore), I'm still waiting for my final interview with the business licensing board of review. After that, I will still be awaiting the arrival of my official license in the mail.
(apparently, the purpose of my interview with Torrance PD was to make sure that, since I'm starting a "vintage" business, I'm not trying to call things "second-hand" when in reality they should be called "stolen." ::shrug:: I dunno -- I'm just pedaling old dresses and sweaters, not car parts.)
"A Vintage Vestige" isn't just the name of my future store -- it's an accurate way of describing the way of life to which I subscribe. That being said, this blog will be peppered with random observations, rants and musings from a sarcastic, modern housewife-in-training's daily life. It will also *eventually* include information on new items and sales for my online shop.
'Eventually' being the unfortunately operative word.
I'm just waiting for this stupid pot to boil. ::huff::
Please check back soon for more updates on 'a vintage vestige' online store, and if it tickles your fancy, stay up-to-date with the random ramblings of an old-fashioned, modern gal.
Cheers!
